How hard to you need to workout?

July 29, 2009

Recently, our clients have been asking us the importance of working out hard. This is a huge debate among fitness professionals. Some trainers take the stance you must workout as hard as you can no matter what. Other trainers feel as long as you get a workout done its better than no workout at all.
Our position considers both answers to be correct. Obviously, we encourage all of our clients to give an all out effort in every session, but there are days where circumstances may not allow you to give it your best. Then we believe to still get the workout in and give what you can on that given day.
To help shed some more light on this issue we encourage everyone to follow the F.I.T.T.E Principal.
The F.I.T.T.E Principal stands for
F-frequency of training
I-Intensity of training session
T-Type of training
T-Time of session
We use this model to help gauge the staying power of motivation, progress, and results. It should be remembered that results and performance gains come from long term consistency! Please feel free to comment our contact us with any questions you may have about our approach to health and fitness!
